Community Water Developers

Description : The Community Water Developers is an NGO established in 2004 which is in the water sector. It is involved in the implementation of water systems in rural areas. Services rendered include the installation of hand pumps, implementation of macro schemes, construction of reservoirs, supervision of pipe laying (distribution), mobilization and training of communities for implementing water systems (micro and macro),and pit latrine construction in schools. Community Water Developers cover four regions in Swaziland. The structure of the organization is as follows 1) Director, 2) Project Coordinators, 3) Administrator, 4) Technicians (Builders and pipe fitters etc) and 5) Community Development Officers (CDO). Community Water Developers has partnerships with the Government of Swaziland since 2004 and the British High Commission since 2004. It also has partnerships with local NGOs since 2007. Community Water Developers would be interested in participating in the PAEPARD project and share its experiences. It believes the initiative is relevant because water is still a big problem in Africa and stronger partnerships are required to solve the problem and providing all people with clean potable water.
