Therefore a workshop has been planned with the aim of developing a draft communication and advocacy strategy for PAEPARD. The objectives, target audience, key messages, and modes of delivery of the strategy will be identified during the workshop. A draft implementation plan will also be developed with the roles and responsibilities of project partners clearly indicated. Following the workshop the strategy will be validated by PAEPARD stakeholders through an online process. A working group will be established to guide this process and we look forward to your participation in this group.

3.2. Develop and maintain a combined communication strategy (WP-C&A)

Date of begining / Date de début : 01.01.2014
Date of end / Date de fin : 01.01.1970
Description : Separate strategies for communication and advocacy were developed in the previous phase of the project. In the new phase of the project the strategies will be reviewed and updated to reflect the needs of the research groups that will receive support from the CRF and IF, respectively. The existing working groups on communication and advocacy will be merged and will draw up Terms of Reference for a writeshop which will develop a combined communication and advocacy strategy. Participants in the writeshop will also include experts in communication and advocacy and representatives from other initiatives which are promoting demand-led ARD approaches. This will facilitate formal links with other groups to share information and experiences and to deliver key messages to external stakeholders more effectively through joint communication and advocacy approaches. It is envisaged that this will be supported by a multi-stakeholder online forum which will be set up within the project’s Dgroup platform. The strategies will be validated with project partners and external stakeholders through online interaction. Orientation will be given to research teams receiving support through the CRF and IF on the communication and advocacy support that PAEPARD is able to provide them with. To ensure cost effectivenss, this will initially be done during a special session of a workshop organized by..[insert details of an appropriate workshop arranged by WP1 or WP2] and will be followed by online guidance. As the specific needs of the different research teams emerge, they will be assisted to develop communication and advocacy plans which will include activities to obtain and share relevant information and to generate further funding. Links will be established with national funding agencies in the countries where research groups are based and matching funding requested for specific aspects of the research. The assistance of EU offices in the relevant countries will be requested to support this process. The research teams will have access to resources to document their activities and experiences and these outputs will be uploaded on the project website. These communication outputs will be primarily in written form, but selected teams will be given support to develop videos. Experiences and lessons generated by reflection and analysis of partnership development and research implementation under the work package on Partnerships will be translated into communication and advocacy messages. These messages will be incorporated into advocacy materials that will be shared with key stakeholders during side events in international fora such as the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development and in individual meetings with development partners. Representatives of research groups funded by the CRF will be supported to present their work at International Conferences so that the PAEPARD approach is shared widely with ARD practitioners. For key advocacy issues, such as funding mechanisms and partnership development, writeshops will be held to develop policy briefs which will be disseminated through the website and at the events described above --
